Our Sumatra Mandheling is sourced from family owned farms organized around the UtamaGro cooperative, located in the Takengon highlands of the Aceh province on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.
The members of the UtamaGro cooperative produce and cultivate their coffee on an average of 2.5 acres of land each using their own micro-mills to depulp and dry the coffee. The cooperative regularly trains in best agricultural practices to assist the small producers with their organic certification while improving the quality of their coffee.
This batch of Sumatra Mandheling coffee is semi washed (Honey process), wet hulled and dried in sun. We roast this coffee to a full body, medium roast which procuces, low acidity with pretty clean chocolaty and smoky tones.
