Sometimes nature gives us only one coffee bean per cherry instead of two. This is referred to as a "Peaberry" and is meticulously sorted and separated out during the milling process. Our Tanzanian Peaberry coffee offers a rich, smooth medium body characteristic distinct to fine African coffees.
This batch Tanzania Peaberry is sourced from an estate located in the Ngorongoro Highland of the Karatu district, Tanzania. The Karatu estate is located between the floor of Lake Tanganyika (352 meters below sea level) and Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters above sea level), with 250 acres of coffee cultivated on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater, which is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. This area also supports more than 25,000 wild animals, including one of the largest populations of lions in the world.
