Background Details:
Our Java Blawan comes to us from one of the biggest estates on the island of Java. Blawan estates are owned and operated by the Indonesian government. Blawan is located near the other three major estates.
Typica is the main varietal on the island, but the government has introduced USDA cultivars for disease resistance. Unlike most of the other Indonesian Islands, the process on Java is fully washed, which gives the coffee a cleaner, more balanced profile.
Roast and Tasting Notes:
We roast our Java Blawan to a full-medium roast. This gives our Java Blawan a nice balanced flavor profile, combining sweetness, dark chocolate, and juniper spice. It has a good syrupy body and low acidity, making it a versatile choice for various brewing methods.
